March 13, 2020 - Kev E. I work away from home and spend a lot of time in a hotel close to the shop, i always bring my guitar to practice, but this week I made the schoolboy error of forgetting my picks.
The shop is closed on Tuesday, however the owner still took my call, when I got back to my hotel I had a little package with a set of picks and a case and some sweets.

I took a guitar to him that I wanted to sell. I’d fallen out of love with it, it didn’t do what I wanted it to do and it had been through two other techs before I took it to him.
Cal listened to me, heard my issues with it and gave me some really good advice on how to make it more appealing to a wider range of guitarists (different strings, set up, pickups etc).
When I collected the guitar I had a wee play in the really well appointed rehearsal room (Cal offered an appropriate amp for me to use, something that very rarely happens in other shops) and started to get worried…it played really well, better in fact, than it had ever played. But I was still determined to sell it, I had my eye on something else and I’d just gone through this process, it was definitely on the way out.
I needed to use it for a recording session and a gig the following week but after that, it’s definitely going.
That was about a month ago, I love this guitar again and it’s now doing exactly what I want it to. It sounds great, feels perfect and lets me play what I hear in my head.
The upside is that I don’t need to sell it (probably at a loss) the downside is that I don’t get to buy a new guitar 🤣
TLDR Cal listens, he knows what he’s talking about and he makes your guitars play really nicely!

We’ve all been there – You save and save (and save) then spend £100’s on a brand new guitar you have lusted after for months or even years. You finally get it in your hands and it just feels…’off’. Or, your faithful 6-stringed friend suddenly starts to buzz, fight you or just not sound like it did.
Guitars are almost always not ready to play as well as they should straight out the box and certainly not if they are your old ones that have been tucked away in a cupboard for years.
Let’s change this.
Setups are just about the best thing you can do for your instrument outside of playing it regularly so get in touch and let me show you how I can make this more fun for you.
Restringing your guitar or bass can feel like a laborious task to a lot of players….but I love it.
Prices start from £20 plus cost of strings for a standard 6-string and includes giving your instrument and frets a spa-level clean and polish whilst I’m at it.
I can install pickups, create custom wiring and fit replacement parts to make your guitar an ever more excellent tool for expressing yo’self… Let me know what you fancy and what your budget is and we’ll make it happen.
From snapped headstocks to worn out nuts (ooyah) I can help. I’ll give you a fair idea of time and cost, and keep you updated throughout!
